Hello!

My name is Caitlin Scappi. I am a New Jersey teacher with a bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education from Towson University and a Masters in Literacy/Reading from Fairleigh Dickinson University. I am certified in NJ as an Elementary Educator and Special Educator K-6, as well as a Reading Specialist and Supervisor. In my time as a teacher, I have taught as a general education teacher, special education teacher, and reading specialist. 

I have received my Orton-Gillingham training from the respected Fairleigh Dickinson University Center for Dyslexia Studies. Additionally, I am currently continuing my education at FDU by pursuing a Dyslexia Specialist Certificate. My Orton-Gilligham training required over 700 hours of clinical work where I taught with children K-8 who struggled with reading. At the clinic, I received experience teaching in person and over Zoom. I have been certified as an Orton-Gillingham Teacher by the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) and the International Multi-Sensory Structured Language Council (IMSLEC).
