Hello!

My name is Caitlin Scappi. I am a New Jersey teacher with a bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education from Towson University and a Master's in Literacy/Reading from Fairleigh Dickinson University. I am certified in NJ as an Elementary Educator and Special Educator K-6, as well as a Reading Specialist and Supervisor. In my time as a teacher, I have taught as a general education teacher, special education teacher, and reading specialist. 

 

I have received my Orton-Gillingham and Dyslexia Specialist certificates from Fairleigh Dickinson University Center for Dyslexia Studies. I am also continuing my education at FDU by pursuing my Orton Gillingham Teacher Trainer certification. My Orton-Gillingham training required over 1000 hours of clinical work, where I taught children K-8 who struggled with reading. At the clinic, I received experience teaching in person and over Zoom. I have been certified as an Orton-Gillingham Teacher and Teacher-Trainer by the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) and the International Multi-Sensory Structured Language Council (IMSLEC).
